From "Lee Konitz: Conversations..." by Andy Hamilton.
Q: You worked with Bill Evans on a few occasions.
Konitz: A very few only. On one occasion, I recall [in 1965], I was supposed to play a few festivals with him, and Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen and Alan Dawson. Bill was kind of sick and we didn't really get along too well. So I played in a trio mostly and then we played one tune just to recognize the contract. I played longer solos, since it wasn't the Bill Evans Quartet, and I played very well those nights, I think.
